how we can work together

01

eating disorder & disordered eating therapy

I believe that eating disorder recovery is fully possible. Whether you are just now exploring therapy or have come from an IOP, PHP, or inpatient setting, I would love to work with you. Together, we will process the messages you have learned about food and your body to create your path to healing.

02

anxiety & depression counseling

With so much going on in the world, it’s no surprise that you may be struggling with depression or anxiety. Often, anxiety and depression are co-occurring with other mental health conditions and can be difficult to manage on your own. These disorders can make it difficult to stay present, connect with others, and lead fulfilling lives.

03

reducing perfectionism & people pleasing

As a recovering perfectionist & people pleaser myself, I deeply understand always trying to have it all together, being terrified of shame & judgement, and putting others needs before my own. While you may look like you have it together on the outside, you are likely struggling with stress and turmoil on the inside. I’m here to help.

04

in-person & telehealth sessions

I adore in-person counseling and I believe that meeting in-person is an important part of the therapy process. I also understand that in-person doesn’t always align with your busy schedule or your commute, and you can’t beat the convenience factor. I’m happy to offer telehealth sessions using a HIPAA compliant secure platform to Kansas residents.

group therapy

In addition to individual therapy, I lead groups both at Bellatore Recovery’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and in an outpatient setting. There is something so powerful about being surrounded by others that are experiencing the similar concerns & vulnerabilities. Group is such a beautiful way for individuals to realize that not only are they not alone in their concerns but that there are other people there who want them to succeed, want to support them, and are genuinely cheering them on along the way. See below for info on my ongoing groups as well as ways that you can join!

current group offerings:

  • What: Bellatore Recovery is partnering with IOP alumni, Tori Wilson, to provide Growing in ED Recovery virtual support groups. The purpose of this group is to provide a low cost, peer-led support group for the eating disorder recovery community. Tori will be the main facilitator of this group while I will be the therapist present to provide psychoeducation, redirection, and additional information or support as needed. I love the concept of being part of a group that is led by someone who has been there before & who just gets it.

  • When: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays at 7 PM - 8 PM CST, beginning 1/2/2024

  • Where: Zoom! A link will be sent after registration is complete.

  • Who: This group is for those in active eating disorder recovery, those who are struggling with disordered eating, and those who want additional support as an add-on to their individual therapy treatment.**

  • Cost: $30/month - billed from Bellatore in 2 month increments. Please note that Bellatore requests a 2-week notice before your next months are billed if you decide to no longer attend group.

  • How: sign up through Tori’s website or call Bellatore at 913-725-0095.

Have more questions? Shoot me a note with anything else you’d like to know!

** Please note that this support group is not a substitute for therapy or for individualized treatment. Due to the nature of this group & peer-led structure, this is not a formal therapy group nor a counseling group. This group will not employ the use of therapeutic techniques or interventions nor provide specific structured therapeutic activities. The purpose of this group is to provide a space for open discussion while obtaining peer support through shared experiences, emotions, coping mechanisms, and creating a sense of solidarity and empathy.

White brick

a little about me

Hi! I’m Mackenzie (she/her), a clinical mental health therapist who specializes in supporting individuals who want to improve their overall wellbeing. Taking the step to seek out therapy is incredibly vulnerable and finding the right therapist can be difficult.

I am an enneagram 3w2, also known as the “Achiever”. The Enneagram Institute states that this enneagram type is ambitious, adaptable, energetic, and sometimes a little too competitive. I’d say that’s pretty spot on. If you are into the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, I’m an ESFJ. Click below to learn a bit more about me!
